Battery life is critical on these. I've bought 2 cheap brands in the past and the battery gets drained very quickly. If you are going to use it much you are advised to buy an extended battery pack.

I love them! You can destroy stuff so much quicker with it. I usualy end up using manual tools for the job but playing with those electic ones, drilling holes in stuff and so on. It's great fun.

I agree the design is very good, plus Makita are one of the best brands out there for power tools. Possibly only DeWalt are better.

I love it. I got the combo kit. Lightweight, keeps a charge. My one complaint is the white gets dirty easy.

Wow it really is costly.. But if you are in this kind of biz I bet it's a worthy investment.

Im more of a black&decker person myself, but this Makita drill sounds pretty good from your review. But have you tried it on a varity of wall types, we've got loads of plasterboard walls at home and the problem I always have is carving up the wall a little too much due to the excessive power in the drill.

Im going to check out whether I can get the Makita Cordless Impact Driver in Australia - it would be perfect for all the masonary and other hard surfaces they use around here - you need a bit of torque and it looks like the Makita Cordless Impact Driver might well deliver

Hey I never heard of a Impact Driver - its like a screwdriver - but actally works eh? I might even think about getting a Makita Cordless impact driver - especially if it can go thru concrete - but at the moment its all the landlords problem because we are renting

I get scared with these gadgets. I am perfectly satisfied with manual tools and for the big jobs I always get a male to attend to it or hire a professional.
