It sounds like this robotic vacuum cleaner may be more suited towards showing off as a tech toy, rather than a serious housemaid. At the price I reckon much more potent conventional vacuum cleaners can be had.

Hi Steve,

That sounds like something one of our cats would have done if he hadn’t been terrified of it.

I’ve heard different running times for it. Some people say it runs about 30 minutes while others, like you, say they get 90 minutes out of it. My own test was about 40 minutes if I recall correctly. That was on a refurb unit so that might be a factor.

I have had the 415 for about 9 months…got it handed down from a friend that upgraded. I purchased a new battery and it has worked flawlessly…but I must say that my house has all hardwood and tile floors. I close the door to the only room with carpet (bedroom). It will run for approx 90+ min. I have two boxers in the house with dark floors…so their shedding in almost invisible, but every morning before I leave for work, I kick it off and let’r go while Im at work. I come home to a collection of dog hair and dust. I had no idea there was that much hair on the floor until I started using this. Well apparently my male didnt like it…he UNLOADED his bladder on it one day and shorted it out. I havent had one for about 2 months…and have missed it sorely…so I just bought another 415 factory refurb…Im not worried about motor durability simply because Im using on hardwoods/tile…but I cant wait for it to arrive!!!

The durability is a major turn off for me. I like to buy products that can last and from the sounds of it, this isn’t one of them.

Not to mention, come on. How often do you vacuum that it takes too much time and you need to use an automatic vacuumer instead

I’ve never actually used a Roomba before, but I have heard of them. They seem pretty cool though, but seem too good to be true. I’ll probably stick to regular vacuuming.

As fair a review as I have ever seen. Perhaps for small apartments without pets and occupied by working singles, this is the ideal product.
