Hi Michael,

Ad blocking eBay directly will be a bit dicey for anyone who uses eBay. Blocking the widget feed will also block some features on eBay.

On CJ, yes, it's often blocked on several levels ranging from image servers to JavaScripts that serve cookies. This is why a lot of clicks and impression go undercounted.

I've tried CJ before, but they seem to use a lot of different ad servers which are easily blocked by AdBlock in Firefox. Most of those affiliate programs don't work because of this.

Hi Bowling,

Click count has been a perennial problem with CJ and not only with eBay. I suspect it has something to do with blocked 3rd party cookies and so forth. It will be interesting to see if things improve with eBay bringing their affiliate program in-house.

Nice BANS site, BTW.

I just signed up and was accepted immediately. I hope this works out better than the CJ setup. There were many times where my click count on CJ matched the click count on my site stats.

Hi SEO Man,

It really depends on how it was coded. When I'm coding from scratch I like to have this kind of information in a configuration file or in a database table. Unfortunately, many programmers simply hardcode this.

It makes sense. They will save a lot of money in the long run. What I'm worried about is that i run a number of different scripts designed for CJ Ebay affiliate and i don't know how drastic the changes are going to be so that i don't have to recode the whole lot.
