So here’s the review…
What is Yimto?
According to the about page Tim was in college, learning about computer science and decided instead to move into Internet Marketing. This blog, Yimto, is his way of documenting his efforts and helping others.
The theme used on Yimto is a three column black and white theme that has a good, professional, look to it.
I found navigation on the weak side with no search and several major navigation widgets buried in the footer. I’d recommend getting a full archive site map plugin and moving navigation to the side bar rather than burying it.
Monetization consists of, as you might guess based of the full title of the blog, affiliate offers. This might work OK but the challenge is going to be continually offering new stuff and not “me too” offers.
Here are some articles that I thought were interesting on Yimto:
5 Places to Get Blogging Ideas and Inspiration had some good ideas about where to get ideas for posts for a blog.
In Rewriting PLR Articles to Avoid Duplicate Content Penalty Tim offers some different thoughts on how to rewrite PLR articles and the intro to it, PLR; Is it worth using?, is good too.
And, lastly, this article, Affiliate Link Cloaking; Why and How To, was a good tutorial on the different ways to cloak affiliate links.
Overall, I liked the content I read on Yimto. I didn’t always agree, particularly on some monetization methods, but Tim stated his opinion well.
Yimto seems to be a good, basic, affiliate marketing blog with a good look and good info. My suggested improvements would be in site navigation and in putting a little more meat on the bones of some articles unless the goal is to keep the info there at a very basic level.
