Site Review: Banner Blindness

Let’s say that you’re the average company looking to make a big splash online. How would you do this? Well, you could take the time to research Internet Marketing and take the time to figure out what to do while your competitors zoom past you. Or you could hire an online marketing consultant, a SEO consultant, a viral video production team, an affiliate marketing firm and so forth and so on and try to manage this mess. Or you could simply go to a one stop full service online marketing agency like BannerBlindness.com and have them take care of it for you.

Who is Banner Blindness?

Banner Blindness

Banner Blindness Inc. is an online marketing agency that offers a wide range of Internet Marketing services including:

  • Paid Search (PPC - Price Per Click)
  • Large Scale Website Development
  • Blog Development
  • Landing Page Optimization
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Display Advertising
  • Viral Video Marketing
  • Flash & Static Banner Creation
  • Link Building / SEO
  • Investment Research - Online Based Companies
  • Ghostwriting / Copyrighting
  • Social Media Optimization/Gaming

They employ online marketing professionals who are experts in online marketing, online advertising, SEO, link building, viral video marketing, blog development, WordPress installations and other related areas.

Some of their services that I wanted to give a special mention include their knowledge of email marketing and online advertising. From reading some of their articles on these topics it seems that they have some good ideas. Another plus is that they provide a telephone number that you can call to discuss your Internet Marketing and Web Development needs with a real, live, person.

The BannerBlindness.com Site

The Banner Blindness Inc. site is a WordPress site that uses an attractive light blue and opera mauve 2 column theme. The content of the articles is good and they are based around Online Marketing news as well as some of their marketing ideas and opinions. One item I found of particular interest was this one, Example of link bait: Time lapse photos/video of online marketing bloggers, that demos their skill at creating a set of viral videos

BannerBlindness.com asked for a full critique so I’m going to cover some weak points I see in their site with an eye toward improving it.

The main priority I see is to get rid of the Adsense. It should not be used on a site that has the goal of attracting potential clients. It looks unprofessional, as if you’re grasping to get a few extra cents. Even worse, the Adsense being displayed shows ads for competitors’ sites. Don’t show any ads on the site except your own. It seems that using this space to showcase Banner Blindness’ own work would be a better thing to do.

Next, I think that they’re too blog-like in their presentation. I think they should consider a magazine type theme and try to get their service proposition more up front in order to better snag potential clients. I would recommend getting rid of some of the standard blog widgets, particularly the RSS feed counter because it shows a very low number.

Conclusion

I think that Banner Blindness Inc. has a lot to offer a business that doesn’t have an in-house IT and marketing staff that can handle a full blown online marketing campaign. I’ve seen good and bad companies doing this kind of work and, from what I can observe about their work, Banner Blindness has a lot going for them. If your company or employer needs help in the area of Internet Marketing and Web Development give them a call and see what Banner Blindness Inc. can do for you.

It’s an interesting name, given what they do. Seems to me you wouldn’t want to emphasize that as a problem.

Hi Robert,

It is an interesting choice of name. I’d guess they’re hoping to rank well for the term “banner blindness” so that they’re presented as the #1 choice when someone searches for that term.

Abe the blue and gold macaw sez, “Only widgets that make real money go above the fold.”

The name is very attractive, before i read the review i thought the site was something very different from what it is. It seems a good service, and it’s another way of making money with the internet. Very cool indeed.

I, too, found the name an interesting choice for their site. Very clever, actually, as we have all become blind to banner ads and so we intuitively know what banner blindness is.

Yes, intersting name here, although what a professional company of any description is doig with Adsense on their site is beyond me.
