Hi Peter,

If you sell reviews, which is technically selling links, then it could cause trouble with Google if these links aren't marked with a rel='nofollow' tag. As long as this tag is in place then you can sell them all you want.

I didn't charge for the free blog reviews I did for about 6 months. I did these as a way to promote this blog in its early stages. I stopped doing them a while ago for a few reasons.

I've always enjoyed reading posts on blog monetization as this is what I'm focusing on now. But one question though, would selling blog reviews land you in trouble with Mr G? May I find out how do you source for these websites to write the reviews.

Thanks Caveman,

My goal with the series was to put together my observations and experiences with the different monetization methods based on realistic expectations, not hype. I think a blog based income of $100-200 a month is quite doable for most people. If you want to make more than that, then you'll need to talk to <a href="http://bloggerunleashed.com/niche-blogging/start-a-blog-about-ants/" rel="nofollow">Dr. Vic</a>.

Super-slick series of posts Frank. For the new kid on the block like me, this is a big help.

Hi Saedel,

The most profitable monetization method I've found so far was in this article, using a web site to advertise a service, in my case, programming and system design consulting services.

The second most profitable was running a site in conjunction with an eBay store but that well ran dry eventually.

Thanks Frank for posting the series. It was very informative and it was easy to read. Well-explained.

By the way, I may have missed it but what kind of monetization works for you best?

I'm going to tweak my blog a little bit so it will be better before you review it :P I know I'm the last in the list, I have more time.
