Otis Redding - Try A Little Tenderness
Here’s Otis Redding performing his hit Try A Little Tenderness live. Otis died in a tragic airplane crash on December 10, 1967, 40 years ago today.
Otis Redding was one of the kings of soul music in the 1960’s, crossing the race barrier that existed at the time and paving the way for other African-American artists to break out of the “Chitlin’ Circuit”.
Redding’s twin-engine Beechcraft airplane went down into Lake Monona near Madison, Wisconsin on this day in 1967, killing him and six other men, including four members of the Bar-Kays. His influence is still felt in a wide variety of popular music today.
