BlogRush Sucks Update: BlogRush vs. EntreCard vs. Cliq
Yes, BlogRush still sucks. And, yes, it’s time for my bi-weekly update.
Here are some folks who’ve come to the same conclusion recently:
Spring Cleaning for Your Blog (Yes, I Know it’s Winter), which appears to be a quality blog, got rejected. They ’spring cleaned’ the refuse of this useless widget off their site.
Douglas Karr Fired: BlogRush, Fuel My Blog and even Technorati from his blog. It just didn’t produce results.
Wild1 had this to say, BlogRush? More like BlogNot.
Adventures in the eMarketing Trade dropped it as well, Took Out Blogrush, when it didn’t work.
New Competitor: EntreCard
One of the newest hyped traffic widgets is EntreCard. This 125×125 widget represents you like a business card that you can use to promote your blog. You earn points by displaying the widget and allowing others to display their card there. Likewise, you can exchange points to display your card on someone else’s site. So far I’ve found this widget to bring traffic but I’ll certainly be keeping a critical eye on it performance-wise.

New Competitor: Cliq
Another new competitor to BlogRush is Cliq. I haven’t used it so I’m not sure how well it works. If you have, please leave a comment about your experiences with it. Here are a few articles comparing Cliq to BlogRush:

As always, let me know how BlogRush Sucks for you and I’ll include you in the next update.

I think Entrecard is the best, hands down. In 20 days, I’ve received over 400 unique visitors, my subscriptions have doubles, and I’m actually getting comments on my posts now!
Here is a post I wrote about it a week back:

now to see if I can buy an ad space
Interesting article Steve. I’ve seen a boost in traffic here as well.
Sorry about the delay but all comments with a link are automatically moderated to prevent comment spam.
Darn! Your ad spot is full!
Hi Steve,
I guess it filled up pretty quick. I just signed up for EntreCard yesterday.
consider our article about entrecard

Hi Matthew,
That’s a good overview of the process.
Traffic quality with EntreCard is an issue, to be sure. It looks a bit like StumbleUpon Jr. traffic-wise. I do try to make my visits mean something though if the site looks good. If there’s a good article I’ll stumble it and I’ll usually click an Adsense ad or two as well. I think this makes the traffic worthwhile and will keep people interested in the widget.
hey thanks for the link.. blogrush was pretty bad.. i haven’t heard of entrecard but i should look into it.
You’re welcome thewild1,
EntreCard looks good so far, but it is rather new. I’ll probably write a more complete article on it soon. It seems a bit like SU, like I mentioned above. It does bring traffic, unlike BlogRush.
Thanks for including a link to my post. I guess I am not the only one that has less than warm fuzzy feelings about BlogRush. I am not a big fan of Entrecard either. Mainly because they only offer on widget look.
Thanks for commenting Monawea,
I agree that the EntreCard widget can look out of place on some blogs but then again it almost blends too well into a sea of 125×125 ads on others. You’ve got to decide how well it fits in to what you’re wanting to do on your blog.
I was skeptical of it at first, thinking it was yet another BlogRush-like mess, but it does actually bring in traffic. Plus I’ve found that some people who’re using it aren’t just dropping a card and moving on but are instead stumbling posts and clicking ads like I’m doing.
