All of the things in the article are ones I've struggled with from time to time but the "dollar here, dollar there" one is often the biggest buster around here. Using a debit card to make most purchases and only keeping out a small 'slush fund' in cash has helped us track this better.</description>

		<description>I've been budgeting for almost 8 years and have my financial records going back 12 (the advantage of keeping bank statements, I guess).  I've found the key to success is to carry a small book (or PDA) around and record each little expense.  This makes it much easier to plan big expenses in the future (that new car, or big TV), while also seeing where you can save money in the short term.

That said, unless someone can commit 100%, it won't work.
