I’d Rather Go Blind - Dana Fuchs Band
Excuse me while I whip some blues out on you. Here’s Dana Fuchs performing her version of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind
I was looking through YouTube tonight for versions of this song and this one just blew me away. Dana invokes Etta and Janis Joplin in this one. Just an amazing performance. And the guitar player is pretty cool too.
Check out her web site, The Dana Fuchs Band, for more.

Wow, Dana Fuch’s got a marvelous voice. And her guitarist is no slouch either. Great version of I’d rather go Blind, almost in a class with Etta James’ original.
What a cool thing to find Dana Fuchs on your site. I heard her a couple of months ago, when I was back east visiting a friend in Chicago; she was opening for Ray Davies (one of the founders of The Kinks).
Marvellous voice and she really won the crowd over. It’s never easy being the opening act, but she did a fantastic job. Hopefully she’ll make it out to Washington sometime in the next year or so.
One of my favorite songs, and Dana Fuchs turns in a great performance of it. Have you heard her version of “Helter Skelter”? It’s also available on YouTube and it’s equally good.
