Some Changes Coming At OpTempo
Sorry about the “site news” post but I’ve got a few changes I’ll be making to OpTempo during the next few days.
New Theme Coming
I’ve got a new, magazine look, theme that I’ll be rolling out sometime in the next few days. It’s based on the Visionary theme by Justin Tadlock. While the theme is good “out of the box” I wanted to take the time to personalize it a little to better fit my needs.
As you might guess, the tricky part will be switching over to the theme. Since it uses the “optional excerpt” area that I haven’t been filling in on posts I’ll have to backfill in some places. I’ll also have to install a Full RSS Feed plugin since otherwise the feed would be cut off. It should be interesting. If you see anything odd over the next few days I might be in the middle of installing and testing.
Sponsored Reviews
Also, during the next few days I’ll be doing some paid reviews through Sponsored Reviews. They will accept your site even if it hasn’t been around that long, unlike some other review brokers. Of course, individual advertisers may have their own requirements such as site age, format, content, PageRank, and so forth. I’m going to give it a try and see how it works.
I’m going to be doing both paid and free reviews of blogs and other sites. Any paid reviews will have a disclosure line at the end of the article.
I’ve heard that some of the other paid review companies don’t like magazine style themes. Does anyone know about this? If so, leave me a comment about it.
Upcoming Free Blog Reviews
Don’t worry, I’m still going to be doing Free Blog Reviews at least until January 31, 2008. Just now I can say that you’re getting a $20 value for free.
I’m trying to space reviews out about every 6-8 posts and this creates a slight backlog. I have the following free blog reviews in the queue right now.
