Billy Joe Shaver is perhaps my favorite country singer/songwriter. Here’s a great performance of his that he did for the Corporate Country Sucks TV show.

Billy Joe Shaver has been a fixture in the outlaw and alternative country scene since the 70’s when he wrote songs for Waylon Jennings and many others. If you aren’t a fan of mainstream corporate country and would like to sample alternatives to it, he’s one of the best places to start.
