BlogRush Sucks - Round #5
OK, another day, another BlogRush Sucks round-up.
But, for a moment, let’s be positive and consider what John Reese and BlogRush should do.
1. Apologize to all the bloggers who’ve been given an ‘inactivated’ slap in the face.
2. Rescind the inactivations for all, not just a select few A-Listers who complained, like John Cow.
3. Do a real evaluation of blogs in the BlogRush system. Accept user input into the evaluation process to flag questionable blogs. Offer a streamlined appeal process because mistakes will happen.
4. Clarify the rules and guidelines and provide the exact reason for not accepting or inactivating a blog. Stop providing only a vague Google-esque rejection notice.
5. Longer term, improve the widget selection and style so that it will fit cleanly into themes and available space on more blogs.
Do I think they’ll take any of these steps? I rather doubt it but I would be happy if they did.

I understand John Reese quickly hired a bunch of people (at an flat-hourly rate) to “view” blogs for quality. I also understand some created “bots” to randomly approve blogs and get paid the flat rate — scamming BlogRush a second time.
Perhaps that’s what happened with you.
Actually, my other blog was accepted while this one was rejected. I suspect OpTempo was ‘bot rejected due to the short domain age. As best I can tell from my logs they barely pinged this site before rejecting it.
If they had said in their rejection notice “Your blog must be 3 months old” like Pay-Per-Post or other programs do I would have found that an acceptable reason. However, for them to come back with a vague “Didn’t meet quality guidelines” was rather rude and insulting. That’s why I started this whole category.
My stats from my server, google, feedburner and sitemeter are all very near in being the same.
I have never gotten a correct count from BlogRush and have only seen 3 blogrush hits out of 1600 in October.
Where is the rush?
I’m dumping BlogRush November 9th after my “BlogRush Sucks” post.
Thanks, BDG
Thanks for stopping by BDG,
As predicted by many the only ‘rush’ that has happened is to the bigger blogs.
