How To Make IE7 Like Firefox - IE7Pro
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7 went a long ways toward catching up with Firefox 2.0 but it still comes up short in some areas, particularly when it comes to the available plug-ins. To deal with this short fall a team of programmers got together and created IE7Pro, the ultimate IE7 add-on.
What Does It Do?
It does a lot. Here’s a list.
- Tabbed Browsing Management
- Spell Check
- Inline Search
- Super Drag Drop
- Crash Recovery
- Proxy Switcher
- Mouse Gesture
- Tab History Browser
- Web Accelerator
- User Agent Switcher
- Webpage Capturer
- Ad Blocker
- Flash Block
- …and more
The bottom line is that it puts IE7 on the same level as a typical Firefox with plug-ins install.
The Bottom Line
The nice thing about this add-on is that you can use either browser, IE7 or Firefox, and have a similar user interface behavior from both. This is a big plus for anyone doing web development or when certain sites you want to visit have one of the browsers, usually Firefox, is blocked.
Is IE7Pro perfect? No, it has got its quirks just like any program but it is a very worthwhile program to have if you have to use IE7 regularly.
Will it replace Firefox? It probably won’t replace Firefox for me. However, using IE7 with it installed doesn’t feel like I’m taking a step back like I did when I used IE6.
What are your thoughts? Have you used this add-on? What did you think of it?
