Woman Attacks Comcast Office With Hammer
Comcast isn’t on many Internet users hit list these days but they made Mona Shaw’s hit list, literally. Here’s the story:
If I had a hammer, and no cable …
At the Comcast office in Manassas later that day, they waited for a manager for two hours before being told the manager had left for the day, the Shaws say.
Shaw, a churchgoing secretary of the local AARP branch, returned the next Monday, Aug. 20 — with a hammer.
"I smashed a keyboard, knocked over a monitor … and I went to hit the telephone," Shaw said. "I figured, ‘Hey, my telephone is screwed up, so is yours.’ "
Police arrested Shaw for disorderly conduct. She received a three-month suspended sentence, was fined $345 and is barred from going near the Comcast offices for a year.
While she shouldn’t have gone nutso on them, Comcast’s customer service, or lack thereof, has pissed off quite a number of people in recent years. What they need is more competition in order to get their act straightened out. In many areas their only competition is from phone companies who have service that’s not that great either.
Has Comcast annoyed you to the point you wanted to take a hammer to their equipment? Do you find their service good, just OK, or awful? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

I work for a cable company (not ComCast) and even I think she was probably justified in what she did. Cable companies aren’t as bad as everyone claims they are … but sometimes we come pretty close unfortunately, particularly on customer service.
Way to go Lady! I think what she did was justified and if a company ever gets me mad like that I think I will do the same thing.
