Musicovery - Discover Music By Your Mood
I ran across this music site a while ago and I thought I’d mention it, Musicovery.com. It’s an Internet radio station that picks music for you to listen to based on your mood as well as genre, decade, and so forth. You can filter it just about however you feel at the moment.
The interface is a bar on the left where you can select the particular types of tunes you want while a roadmap to the songs the widget picks for you are in the center. You can scroll around the map to pick songs manually. The site runs fast with little or no lag time although id is designed to work over high speed Internet connections, not dial up.
The sound quality is good as you would get on FM radio or most other free Internet listening sites. They offer hi-fi service for a fee but I don’t see a lot of value add to it myself as opposed to using a subscription pay service like Rhapsody or Napster. They also have links to iTunes, Amazon, and eBay so that you can buy the music you’re listening to when you’re in the mood for it. Now that’s a clever marketing idea.
Overall, I’ve found this site an interesting way to find new music or rediscover some I had forgotten about.
Have you tried out this service? What did you think?
