Can You Answer These 10 Tough Job Interview Questions?
Often in job interviews you can get blindsided by questions that put you on the spot, where there are no good answers. On the flip side, if you’re interviewing someone you may want to see how well they can deal with such a question and see if they say something revealing, positive or negative, about themselves when they’re answering.
I’ve put together 10 such questions that I like to ask or that I’ve been asked in job interviews. I think by mentally preparing for such questions you can improve your chances in an interview. Also, if you’re doing the interviewing, you can use these as guides for your own questions.
1. What do you consider your most important duty at your current job?
2. What would you say is your strongest job related skill and why? What would be your weakest?
3. What was the most important thing you learned on your current job?
4. What is your most important career objective right now?
5. What accomplishment in your career are you most proud of?
6. Have you ever been in a job where you felt under qualified? How about over qualified?
7. What do you think are some of the weakest links in the way things are done at your current job? What would be some of the stronger points?
8. If someone in your organization asked for help but you were very busy with your own tasks, what would you do?
9 What resources do you feel that you need in order to do your job well?
10. Would you find more career happiness in a job that allowed you gain new skills or one where your current skills were fully utilized?
