Do You Suffer From “Ringxiety”
This AP story reports on the technological phenomena where one thinks their cellphone or PDA is ringing when it actually isn’t.
Full Story: Is that your phone or your imagination?
Many mobile phone addicts and BlackBerry junkies report feeling vibrations when there are none, or feeling as if they’re wearing a cell phone when they’re not.
The first time it happened to Jonathan Zaback, a manager at the public relations company Burson-Marsteller, he was out with friends and showing off his new BlackBerry Curve.
“While they were looking at it, I felt this vibration on my side. I reached down to grab it and realized there was no BlackBerry there.”
Have you ever experienced this?
I did while I worked for a company that required IT people be on call and use Blackberrys. It annoyed me the whole time I was on vacation one summer because I didn’t bring it with me. That’s also why I’m glad I don’t have a Blackberry anymore. A regular old cellphone doesn’t bother me as much.
What do you think? Do you have this problem? Do you think it’s silly? Let me know by leaving a comment.

Some people feel vibrating cel phones that aren’t there, yet I hear rock band music that isn’t playing. No kidding! Whenever the house is quiet, or I am out camping in a quiet place, I swear I hear electric guitars. I can’t make them stop! Yet they are never loud enough to actually figure out what song they are playing! Dang!
