Since Halloween is coming up at the end of the month pumpkin contests are getting started. Here’s a huge 1,524 pound one in Half Moon Bay, California October 8, 2007. Starr’s pumpkin weighed a record 1,524 pounds.

I’ve never been able to get even small pumpkins to grow in my backyard gardens, mainly due to either insects or animals eating them early. They must have giants like this under close guard at all times.
Wow! Did 1,524 pounds get this pumpkin grower into the Guiness Book of World Records? I wonder. I have never tried to grow a large pumpkin, but have had great success at normal sized ones, and prefer to grow my own pumpkins for carving for Halloween.
Man that Pivo2 is like a car and skateboard combination! Way cool! My dad had this idea a long time ago. Fun to see his idea is now real. Wasn’t this kind of car in a movie too?
